The film never happened, as we all know, but doesn’t it look like the film that would have gotten Disney out of the creative rut they had in the eighties? Of course, without that, the streak of good films they put out into the first half of the nineties might never have happened. And we all know what John Lasseter went on to found after Disney ignored him.

Now Lasseter runs Disney’s creative department and Where the Wild Things Are is being done by Spike Jonze, to be released in the fall of next year. Strange how things work out.
