Folks might remember the story of CleanFlix aka Clean Flicks, a brick & mortar and Netflix-esque video rental service that ignored intellectual property/copyright laws by editing nudity, sex, drug use and profanity out of Hollywood films. The Utah-based chain was soon barraged by multiple lawsuits from A-list directors and studios alike and garnered national media attention in the process.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter reports that CleanFlix founder Daniel Thompson has been arrested for…wait for it….having sex with under-aged girls, providing them with booze, drugs (and possibly videotaping it).
The real twist: since his activities have come to light, the remaining CleanFlix partners are suing Thompson (who apparently spun-off from the company in recent years) for misuse of their intellectual property… which is EXACTLY what started the whole firestorm in the first place.
