The Happening Trailer
February 4, 2008 by James
The first teaser for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening has leaked online:
The script (which I reviewed here) was absolutely atrocious, but hopefully some of it’s many, many flaws will be overshadowed by Night’s skills as a director.
Whew, that was a close one. I fixed the formatting (to my eyes, anyway).
I think I fixed the remainder of the formatting problems.
I used the new Firefox WordPress plugin to directly post to the Blog via a single button.
While helpful, the level of simplicity goes right out the window with the number of changes you need to make if you want to add text to the post.
Yeah, figured you were working on it and didn’t want to be presumptuous, but it was pretty much an emergency-level situation.
I might be finished with Shyamalan. I’ll have to see. I’m not going to sit through another Lady in the Water, but I can be brought back on board if the reviews and/or word of mouth turn out to be decent.
Meanwhile, the red-band trailer for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the latest from the Judd Apatow factory, is out. Paul Rudd might be a god.
Re: Paul Rudd as a deity–not if you’ve seen The Ten, which I did over the weekend. He is listed as one of the producers, and all I have to say is: Why? He was also in Over Her Dead Body, which came in a decidedly unimpressive 11th place it’s opening weekend. Rudd should stick with Apatow.
Ah, haven’t seen those. Mostly know him from Apatow and Friends. But I don’t have much difficulty believing Over Her Dead Body is crap. Deification up for review.
Still, “ya sound like yar from landan!” Awesome.
I really like Rudd as an actor, I do, but after The Ten, well, my heart sinks.
Rudd good: R+J and Friends.
Also his involvement in the spoof on the Huckabees freakout.
can’t remember anything else.
Good Rudd: Clueless.
Bad Rudd: Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers.
