About Jackrabbit Slim

I'm a cubicle slave that still harbors dreams of becoming a full-time writer. I was born and reared in suburban Detroit, Michigain. I was a Theatre Arts major at Stony Brook University, and worked many years as an editor at Penthouse magazine. I now live near Princeton, New Jersey. In my spare time I follow the Detroit Tigers, the Princeton women's ice hockey team, and I review adult films. My blog is at gogorama.blogspot.com

  1. Okay, the key to this show now is whether Daniel is right when he says that the timeline can’t be altered. Does that mean that the Left Behinders: Sawyer, Juliet, et. al., were always part of Dharma? Clearly by saving Amy, which allows a baby to be born, would be altering the timeline.

    Questions, thoughts:

Ben must be on the island in 1977, or close to arriving.

What happened to Olivia, Horace’s wife (remember, they helped Ben’s parents when he was born. Olivia then was a schoolteacher on the island).

Was the statue Egyptian? Lots of references to ancient Egypt, from the Ankh necklace to Hurley drawing a Sphinx in last week’s episode to the exit being in Tunisia (admittedly not Egypt, but close enough for government work).

If the little girl was supposed to be Charlotte, they screwed up, as we learned her birthdate was in 1979 in a previous episode. Or maybe Daniel just assumed she was Charlotte.

It’s clear that Jack, Kate and Hurley (and Sayid from the teaser for the next episode) landed in 1977. But what about Locke and Ben. The Dharma station on Hydra appears to be long abandoned.

As always, where are Bernard and Rose?

  2. Good episode. I feel that my attention has been drifting away from Lost of late, but this felt a lot more grounded than most episodes this season. I’ve felt like the series has lost it’s heart as the emotional connections between characters have taken a backseat to endless time travel and the (mostly) boring Oceanic Six shenanigans.

I really enjoyed all the character interplay this installment, particularly the “return to the beach” conversation (one of the first laugh out loud moments I’ve had this season) and the refreshingly sweet and positive Sawyer/Juliette romance. It’s good to have some light after the almost uniformly dire tone we’ve endured this year.

Next week is looking a little business as usual, which worries me.

  3. Completely agree with James.
Absolutely love the return of the focus back onto relationships and love the lasting slow-burn of the beautiful moment between Sawyer and Juliette leading to the fated reunion with Kate. Great ending to a really good episode.

  4. Saw this last night finally. Why can’t the fence harm Richard Alpert?

    What about Lapidus & Sun?

I wonder how far back in time they went when Locke first fell down the well and the statue was there

And most importantly – where did Jin call Sawyer from? (ha)
