Predict the #1 film for the weekend of July 10-12, 2009.
The one who predicts closest to the total Friday to Sunday gross for the #1 film wins 4 points. Runner-up gains 2 points. Predicting within half a million earns 2 extra points.
Bonus questions:
1) Will Bruno beat the per screen average of The Hangover? ($13,759 from 3,269 theaters. Bruno is scheduled for 2700+)
2) Will Chris Columbus I Love You, Beth Cooper have an ADJUSTED opening weekend that is over or under his 1991 opus Only the Lonely, starring Macaulay Culkin? ($5,997,993 x 7.18/4.21 = $10,229,356 being the adjusted opening weekend)
Deadline is Wednesday July 8 at 11:59 pm (blog time).

I use this list here to make the adjusted openings, for those who were wondering.

Chris Columbus directed I Love You, Beth Cooper? How the hell did that happen?
Nick, for question 1, do you mean the per screen average of The Hangover in its opening weekend, or this coming weekend?
$13,759 is from its opening weekend.

I hate to say that I didn’t read the bonus questions, but maybe it will work better for me that way. I’m just not having much luck.
I expect lots of refunds/walkouts on Bruno. I haven’t seen any reviews, but a co-worker got to see a total of 30 minutes unedited during a conference and said people were walking out then and that it’s much worse (content-wise) than Borat.
I don’t think the buzz on Bruno is that hot, but I guess I’ll go witht the crowd on this one

No filmman this week? Guess he’s tied up with shooting.
Votes are in and they’re all for Bruno. I felt like changing mine and raising it above James’ but decided against it. My integrity must be above reproach. Besides, we’re a nice bunch crowded there around the mid 30s.
In other news, from next week the bonus questions will start getting easier! Prepare yourself for the essence of simplicity.

No filmman this week, who is apparently tied up shooting his next film. I think I speak for most of us here when I say best of luck and happy shooting, film!
What kind of films does filmman film? And are they related to Slim’s past tenure at Penthouse?
Agghhh…was able to get on with about an hour left. For some reason, couldn’t formulate a guess. Too tired to think, too revved to sleep. Good luck…
Estimates have Bruno at 30.4. Since they are usually inflated, looks good for Brian and Joe.
Not inconceivable that it could fall below Ice Age 3 if it dips below that estimate. As no one tipped IA3, I presume this makes no difference to the points distribution.
Jackrabbit scores! And who more appropriate? I honestly doubt there is anyone around these parts who has seen more male frontal nudity. Aside from that, there’s been so many close calls by now that it was only a matter of time. Good job! Runner-up is Brian. I don’t know if that’s appropriate.
