Immediately followed by the kick-off of the all-new, all-different HAGEBOC II on the 23rd. Rules to follow. Maybe even prizes.
It’s the most magical time of year and it begins on Monday…or Sunday if I have time. Something like that.

Speaking of Twilight, I nearly retched when I got my Entertainment Weekly today–another Twilight cover! They must have had at least four such covers just in this calendar year. I wrote them a cranky letter, telling them I’m not renewing my subscription, and I’m serious about it. They may be encouraging newsstand sales to teenage girls, but I can’t be the only subscriber that is disgusted by their complete abandonment of being a decent magazine for people serious about movies. Kind of reminds me of how Premiere went down the toilet. Oh well, saves me some money.
I haven’t gotten EW for years. Used to be a favorite of mine but I don’t think I’ve gotten it since the late 90s.
Ditto, I dropped the magazine about 5 or 6 years ago after having a subscription since (at least) 1991. It used to be a great magazine, but it really started taking a massive nosedive in quality in the early part of this decade.
And other than the seemingly endless number of Parenting/Home magazines that are delivered to our house without explanation/request/payment on a weekly basis: we subscribe to nothing.
That’s funny. We get one of those parenting magazines also, and we don’t even have kids.
Until very recently, I also got Newsweek as a gift from my parents. I was getting increasingly impatient with their general awfulness, and finally told my parents to cancel it after their “Case for Killing Granny” cover. It was pretty apparent at that moment that they weren’t even trying to be a serious news magazine. I’m still angry about it.
