A poll conducted by NRG research says a fair amount of people are still hesitant to see TDKR. I read this yesterday, but decided to stay the course with my guess. Have to go with your gut, I spose.
Perhaps The Avengers will be the nadir for pre-Aurora American moviegoing?
Sorry, I meant the apex.
Sorry, I mean the ‘high-point’? I mean, the absolute best we’ll ever see for modern moviegoing?
The Dark Knight Rises isn’t having a great Friday and both The Watch and Tinker, Tailor, Step Up, Spy appear to be tanking.
TDKR down 78% at this point. The Hunger Games is assured at maintaining the #2 spot for the year as Batman’s likelihood of reaching even 400M is iffy. What a weird year this has been at the box office.
Still, it’s already spanked Spider-Man. Suck it, Garfield – you’ll never be Peter Parker in my heart!
Very depressed about The Watch. I really want Ayoade to be a star.
The Watch may not hit 15 million.
True re: Batman outgrossing Spider-Man, but did anyone expect otherwise. The bigger story is that Batman is officially Jennifer Lawrence’s bitch now.
Ayoade is gonna be fine. He’s directing The Double with Jessie Eisenberg right now.
BTW, some great lines from Ayoade in this interview with Reuters:

Looks like James “Price is Righted” me to victory, and possibly the bonus. Less will win for both bonus points.
I’d murder someone to get another season of Darkplace.
Unfortunately, The Reprisalizer is probably the closest we’re going to get.
Hmm, pending Nick’s posting of a new thread – I wonder if we should just go ahead and make our guesses for this week here?
My bonus streak was broken….tight race for 3rd place!
