Finding the Right Theme

Standard

Well, someone had to do it.

For those of you just joining us, we’re trying out new visual themes for the blog. If you should experience any slight feelings of dizziness, headache or nausea, paper bags will be available in the seat in front of you.

I propose that we try out a new theme every two days, to give everyone time to register opinions/complaints/miscellanous, until monday when either a new one will have been selected or the old one kept.

Today we are trying The Journalist. It looks like this, for those of you joining us later on in the program. I suggest that on friday we try out Tarski, but those with different opinions on this feel free to speak your mind.

Also, we now have 3 gigabytes of space for pictures and such. Nice.

(Hope nothing breaks)

Help Wanted

Standard

All right, I’ve had my fun over the past couple weeks being cryptic, but that’s over now.  I’ll lay it all out.

It’s true, I am moving, and that’s all going down this weekend.  Since we’re taking my car, we’ll have to drive up there.  The current plan is to leave Friday, and arrive at the new place on Saturday.

What this means is that, for Friday, my only home will be the road.  Accordingly, I will be unable to post an Openings of any kind this weekend, as computer access will be unreliable and honestly I won’t want to do it even if we get free wi-fi at some hotel somewhere (and no one cares about “Opening at the Fairfield Inn” anyway).  So I’d like to request that someone please fill in Friday, with whatever criteria they feel like using.

Many thanks.

Time Is Not on Our Side

Standard

OK, about the time … I changed the time to US Eastern time. It was on UTC. However, when I do that it doesn’t appear that it changes the original timestamps for the comments, so that could be confusing for the next few hours. FYI, in case you post a comment and it doesn’t appear where you think it should.

Also, regarding timestamps on posts and comments, which are not shown right now … that is a result of the chosen template. We can easily switch to a different template, and I was playing around with them a minute ago. And I may continue, so if you come here and it looks real odd, that’s why.
