Opening in Chicago, Weekend of 04/06

Man, is this week lame. I didn’t intend for American Reunion to be the only featured opening, but that’s how it happened. The Music Box has a few Powell/Pressburger films showing this week, including a couple screenings of the new The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp restoration, so at least there’s something to go see.

Directors: Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay)
Personal Interest Factor: 4
I actually remember the first American Pie being a disappointment, and I honestly have no clue whether or not I saw the second one. I’m leaning towards “no”. Anyway, there’s nothing in any of the promos for this one that have looked the least bit enticing, and I couldn’t give a shit about either the actors involved or the characters they play. The idea that this is some sort of generational watershed event is frankly bizarre, but that seems to be how it’s being sold. I have no idea if any actual people feel that way or not.
Metacritic: 51
