  1. Not sure if Juan will be around to make his guess this week, he’s in final settlement negotiations with Kevin Clash.

  2. Not a huge spread here, but bonus #2 appears to be leading towards a “more.”

    Rob – Monsters U – $72.3m
    1) Man of Steel
    2) Less

    Slim – Monsters U – $78m
    1) Man of Steel
    2) Less

    James – Monsters U – $80m
    1) Man of Steel
    2) More

    Joe – Monsters U – $90m
    1) WWZ
    2) More

  3. My change was going to be MU down to $85m…at least I would have had a shot. It needs 2 more massive days for me to have a chance….come on kids! Drag your parents to the late shows & pay full price!!!

  4. Great debut for Monsters University. Should hold exceptionally well until Despicable Me 2 takes over the marketplace in a couple of weeks.

It’s so funny that WWZ was presumed to be the biggest disaster of the Summer as recently as a few weeks ago – now they’re talking franchise.

Man of Steel’s drop is certainly cause for concern (in terms of whether people actually like the film), but it’s raking it in internationally. That franchise’s future really won’t be determined until the second installment, which could break out Dark Knight-style or break down ala FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer…

Now You See Me is at 94M! Who would have predicted that?

  5. Awww man, I really needed something above $84m…darn kids movies and their low ticket prices.
Congrats to James! Slim is starting to pull away but the summer is still young
