  1. Like I said at the time, I enjoyed the Amazing Spiderman reboot film but the trailer for the sequel was so dull and tedious it put me off seeing it (lucky me).

  2. So Sony will now co-produce a new Spider-Man franchise with Marvel Studios and the character will appear in the proper cinematic universe in films released by Disney. Meaning Spider-Man teaming up with The Avengers, etc. is a certainty. Seems like everyone wins, including the fans.

Now the question is how long will it take for Marvel to work something out with FOX for The X-Men. While I doubt the studio would be willing to merge their soon-to-be-nine-film universe into Marvel’s sandbox, there’s a good chance they could do some inter-dimensional crossover in a Secret Wars style event.

  3. Secret Wars was a 12-issue special series Marvel did in the early 80s. A supreme being, “The Beyonder,” gathers all of the greatest heroes and villains from Earth puts them on an Earth-like planet and lets them duke it out (the only major one who didn’t go was Daredevil). The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, Magneto, Doctor Doom, the Hulk (when he could be green and still smart), Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America all took part. It was where Spider-Man got his black suit. When I moved I found I have 11 of the original 12 issues. Aargh!

  4. I’d bet Secret Wars will be the next decade’s big Marvel event (this decade’s being 2018/2019’s The Avengers: Infinity War). It would definitely enable them to bring in The X-Men if Fox was game.
